Good morning everyone!
Hoping that you had a fabulous weekend and those of you in the UK, enjoyed the extra day off!
I had a lovely weekend, with Carling Jnr only narrowly missing receiving an ASBO for bad behaviour… heckling CBeebies Superstars and littering the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside. My administration skills obviously far outweigh my ability to control an overactive 3 year old!
Yesterday, the weather wasn’t so fabulous, so I took the time do a couple of household tasks that are long overdue. This including sorting out Carling Jnr’s toy dump (otherwise known as a bedroom) and sorting out our sock drawers.
For months I have thought that the monsters , which Carling Jnr swears live under his bed, were eating socks and making it impossible to make a pair. This was making getting dressed in the mornings a particular challenge.
You see, in a three year olds eyes, wearing socks is challenging enough… wearing a COMPLETELY odd pair is unacceptable and will result in a full blown melt down, however there is such a thing as an ACCEPTABLY odd pair. This is basically two socks that may be different colours but have the same pattern or different pictures of the same character (Thomas the Tank Engine for example) or even characters from the same cartoon (ALL ninja Turtles are acceptable in any mix!).
Whilst I am pleased to say that I have managed to find and sort at least 20 pairs of matching socks, which I found oddly satisfying, I will be a little sad not to go through the drama of finding an acceptably odd pair of socks each morning…
…on the plus side I spend every working day with my acceptably odd colleagues. We all have very different patterns and characters, but none of us is completely odd and we have one thing in common; to lead Graphitene to the top of the list in innovation, customer service and product quality.
